Just got this recent task on converting a linux OS installed on a ASUS eeepc.
This little EEE pc is quite old, probably one of the first generation EEE's.
This is gonna be tricky since the 1000H Asus EEE pc has one of the smallest
specs in the world. This pint size eee will definitely have troubles running
windows xp.
The recently found this nifty little program that allows me to take out huge
portions of windows xp to make it viable for eee pc. What does this mean? well
the asus eeepc 1000h only has 2GB worth of hardrive. That is hardly viable for
installing a windows XP operating system. Nlite allows users to take out all
those heavy portions of Windows XP which computers do not need.
An example would be the windows tour demo and many more. Nlite allows users
to keep a very reliable operating system with very little memory space. Lets
just say that the 600mb windows XP installation package can now be reduced to
200mb.
Take not however that once you installed the Diluted windows on the eee pc 1000h.
You’re gonna need an external memory device that allows in order to run your applications.
The problem with converting your eeepc 100h operating sytem to windows is that
it does not leave you with a lot of hard drive space. So your gonna have to
compensate by installing portable applications on your flashdrive or smart media.
